Pet skills from the gacha
Every pet skill a gacha machine can give: what each skill does, which machine holds it and how book levels work.
Two gacha machines hand out pet skill books: Tamer's Codex, where every book is a named Lv75 book and you choose your pity prize, and Tamer's Fortune, whose books teach a random skill. Both open from the Events window in game. A book is used from your bag on an open skill slot; see Skills and books.
How books work
Every skill line has four ranks, taught by books for Lv15, Lv35, Lv55 and Lv75. The pet must have reached the book's level, and a higher book teaches a stronger rank of the same skill. A named book (for example Fierce (Lv75)) always teaches that skill; a Pet Skill Book teaches one skill drawn from the list when you use it.
Every pet skill book is tradable, so books you do not need can be sold on the Marketplace.
Which machine gives what
Tamer's Codex
The pet skill machine. Its four headline books are Guardian's Might, Resonance, Bulwark Wrath and Battle Instinct, all Lv75. Before your first pull you choose which of the four your pity prize will be, and you can change that choice later. The machine also holds the Lv75 book of every other skill on this page, the Pet Skill Slot Key, Advanced Fusion Stone EX, Advanced Fusion Stone+, Low-Grade Fusion Stone EX and Pet Training Cards.
Tamer's Fortune
Holds the random Pet Skill Book at all four levels (Lv15, Lv35, Lv55 and Lv75) and the Pet Skill Slot Key, beside its soul orbs and other prizes. A random book never teaches Bulwark Wrath or Battle Instinct: those two come only as named books.
Outside the gacha
Named books of every level can also be bought from other players on the Commodity Exchange, and the Tamer Store sells random Pet Skill Books and Pet Skill Chests.
The two new skills
Bulwark Wrath Passive
Raises the pet's Physical Defense and Magic Resistance, then turns part of that defense into attack: Physical Defense adds Physical Attack and Magic Resistance adds Magic Attack and elemental damage. The pet keeps its full defenses.
Battle Instinct Passive
Changes with the pet's row in battle. In the front row it works like Steelbone Armor and softens physical hits; in the back row it works like Fierce, Elemental Fury and Sacred Infusion together, raising physical, fire, ice, holy and shadow damage.
Passive skills
Passive skills work on their own, all the time, and take no turn.
Guardian's Might
Raises the pet's maximum HP.
Resonance
Strengthens what the pet lends you while it is in the Possession position.
Fierce
Raises physical damage.
Elemental Fury
Raises fire and ice damage.
Sacred Infusion
Raises holy and shadow damage.
Mana Focus
Raises the pet's maximum MP.
Steelbone Armor
Absorbs part of every physical hit the pet takes.
Demon Ward
Absorbs part of every magic hit the pet takes.
Ambush
The pet starts each battle with its action bar already partly filled, so it moves sooner.
Swiftness
The pet's action bar fills faster while its HP is high.
Fury
Physical and magic critical hits strike harder while the pet's HP is low.
Sprite Force
The pet's skills cost less MP.
Active skills
Active skills take the pet's turn, in the order they sit on the pet's bar next to your hotbar.
Dark Surge
A physical strike down one enemy lane, front and back, that also lowers each target's magic attack for a while.
Shadow Devour
A heavy shadow strike on one enemy, with a chance to seal its skills for a few seconds.
Crushing Oppression
A heavy physical strike on one enemy that also lowers its physical attack for a while.
Death Blaze
A fire strike on one enemy, with a chance of an extra burst of fire damage.
Frostbane Blade
An ice strike on a whole row of enemies.
Holy Light
A holy strike on every enemy that also strips their buffs.
Motivation
Raises the action power of every ally for a while.
Revive
Brings one fallen ally back into the fight with part of its HP.
Mana Conversion
Trades some of the pet's own HP for MP.
