The four classes

Warrior, Mage, Priest and Ranger: what each one does in a fight and the first skills each learns.

Updated

Your class is chosen when you make a character and never changes. Each class learns its own skills as it levels, and owns two belief doctrines for its talents.

Warrior

Warriors are close combat fighters who like to be in the thick of battle, trading armour and reach for raw staying power. Melee. Doctrines: Guardian and War God.

  • Critical Hit from level 3
  • Taunt from level 15
  • Chivalry from level 30

Mage

Mages break formations from the back line. Enormous damage, almost no health, and every fight is a race to cast first. Arcane. Doctrines: Fal (fire) and Arcane (ice and defence).

  • Fireball from level 3
  • Ice Spike from level 12
  • Serenity from level 30

Priest

Priests keep the party standing. Healing, wound cleansing and blessings, with enough holy damage to hold their own alone. Support. Doctrines: Grace and Judgement.

  • Holy Light from level 3
  • Dedication from level 7
  • Shadow from level 13

Ranger

Rangers strike first and often. The fastest class in the game, hitting from the back rank before the enemy bar fills. Ranged. Doctrines: Hunt and Wind.

  • Focused Shot from level 3
  • Agility from level 15
  • Armor-Piercing Shot from level 30

A note on names

The Warrior's Critical Hit is a skill name, not a promise: it does not always land a critical hit. The Ranger's Critical Strike, learned later, does, and costs some HP.
