How gathering works
Mine, chop and sift from level 10: the right tool, where to stand, how a cycle pays and what stops it.
Before you start
Gathering opens at level 10. Bring a tool the signpost accepts:
- Pickaxes for ore, stone and gems (Mining).
- Axes for wood, hide and cloth (Chopping).
- Filters for pearls and silk (Sifting).
The level in a tool's name is the character level needed to use it, and a higher-level tool works faster. A few special tools, like the universal golden axes, work on every signpost.
Where to stand
Each signpost owns the ground around it. On maps with painted gathering ground, stand inside the patch around the signpost; elsewhere, stand near the signpost itself. The signpost list gives every signpost by map, with what it gives and the tools it takes. The world map pins them too.
The cycle
Press Start and stay still. Every time the bar fills, one material goes straight into your bag, and the next cycle begins. Most cycles give the signpost's common material; finer grades and rare stones turn up now and then.
Gathering stops when you move or press Stop, when your tool wears out, when your bag is full, or when you reach the day's gathering allowance. Allowances reset at the daily reset (05:00 WIB).
What the materials are for
Gathered materials go into crafting and upgrading gear. They can be traded and sold like any other item.
