Slots and requirements
The ten equipment slots, rarity colours, and what your character needs to wear a piece.
Ten slots
A character wears a weapon, necklace, ring, coat, trousers, hat, shoes, bracelet, fashion and an aircraft. The first eight are the combat slots, forged at the blacksmith; fashion and aircraft change your look and travel, and are never forged. Companions have no equipment slots.
Rarity
A piece's colour is its rarity, from the most common up: white, blue, green, yellow, gold, purple. Rarer pieces carry more stat lines. Only purple pieces count towards a crafting set.
Check before you equip
- Class: the piece must be for your class, unless it is for any class.
- Level: your level must be at least the piece's requirement and its current equipment level, whichever is higher.
- Gender: some pieces are for one gender only. Fashion is for anyone.
- Fly Skill: an aircraft needs the Fly Skill rank it names.
Reading a piece
Every piece has guaranteed stat lines, and most have optional lines on top. A stat rolled near the top of its range shows its figure in orange. Hover a piece (click it in your bag, tap it on a touch screen) to compare it with what you are wearing.
Durability
Gear wears down as you fight. A piece at zero durability stops counting towards its set; repair it at a blacksmith or an armour counter.
