Patch Notes v0.15.9: Hell-o-fiend in Kharugna, Hide in Chat and a Cleaner Interface

Kharugna is dressed for Hell-o-fiend, the Escape skill finally works, blocking someone now keeps them out of your chat and mail, Hunt Mode gets its own button and a smarter route, and the whole interface has been cleaned up. Here's what's new.
🎃 Hell-o-fiend
- Kharugna wears its Hell-o-fiend theme: a coloured night sky, glowing lamps, distant lightning, spooky buildings and its own music.
- New music: 22 maps and dungeons now each have their own track (before, eight tracks were shared between them, one of them the battle song). Fights no longer switch to a separate battle song: the map's music keeps playing through the fight.
- 63 field monsters have new art, and ranged and magic monsters now play their attack animation instead of standing still while their shot flies.
- Lone Beast Mofsky has been redrawn and now stands at the centre of his band in Crimson Lake Arena.
⚔️ Combat
- Escape works now. Before, pressing the Escape skill only said "You cannot flee from a fight", and refreshing the page was the only way out. Now Escape takes you out of a monster fight. You stay where you stood, keep the HP and MP the fight left you (at least 1 HP), and get no rewards for that fight. All the characters you play on one page always leave together.
- In a party, the leader decides. When the party leader escapes, the whole party in that fight escapes with them, on every account. Other members can't escape on their own while their leader is in the same fight: they get "Only the party leader can escape a fight." and nothing happens. If the leader isn't in your fight, you can still escape by yourself, so nobody gets stuck.
- Escape in a duel: leaving a duel you accepted counts as losing it, the same as disconnecting.
- Priest Revive always succeeds (buff). Ranks 1 to 3 used to fail 50%, 25% and 25% of the time. Now every rank works and brings the ally back with 30/35/40/45/50% HP (was 20/20/30/30/40%). Monsters that cast Revive follow the same numbers.
- Pet revive skills are unchanged: they still have a chance to fail. What's new is that a failed revive (pet or monster) now plays on the fallen ally and shows "revive failed", instead of looking like nothing happened.
- Pick an ally in a fight and your character's turn casts the first heal or buff that ally needs, ahead of your auto pick or default skill.
- Damage over time now stacks (change, both ways). Shadow, Shadow Trap, Burn, Abyssal Agony and Darkness Engulfs the Land each tick side by side. Before, they all counted as one effect, so a new one wiped out whichever was already ticking. A new rank of the same effect still replaces the old one. Monsters' damage-over-time effects stack on you too.
- Cleaner battlefield: fighters' names show only on your target or under the mouse, and damage numbers start clear of other labels.
- Low durability warning: when a fight starts, it now warns you if any worn gear is under 20% durability, before it breaks.
🗺️ Dungeons & Parties
- Hunt Mode has its own button at the top middle of the screen in farm dungeons, on desktop and mobile. It used to be in the world map. It still needs a Tamer Ticket, as before. Hunt Mode now plans the whole dungeon as one route over the real walking paths before you enter, instead of heading for whichever group looks closest in a straight line. Switch it on halfway through and it joins that route at the group nearest on foot and carries on from there. That cuts walking by about a quarter to two thirds depending on the dungeon, so a run clears faster. When every monster is beaten, it asks whether to leave the dungeon or stay, and shows how many entries you have left today. Starting and stopping it no longer asks for a confirm.
- Inviting your own character puts it straight into your party, with no invitation to accept. It can't join while it's in a fight. Characters on other accounts still get an invitation.
- Character select shows your characters as seats, with the leader under a star. Ticking Form party ticks every character that can come along. Characters that are away or mining are skipped.
- First clear banner: the first time each of your characters beats a dungeon's final boss, the result screen is followed by a "First clear: (dungeon name)" banner. It's just a celebration: rewards are the same as before.
🛡️ Blocking & Chat
- Hide in chat: a blocked player's menu has a new "Hide in chat" switch. It's on by default, and already on for players you blocked before. While it's on, nothing they say reaches you in Local, World, Trade, Party or Guild chat, live or in chat history. Direct messages were already refused both ways.
- Mail from a blocked player stays in your mailbox but shows as "Mail from a blocked player", with the sender, subject and text hidden. You can still take any Gold and items attached. Unblock them and the letter shows as written.
- Private messages reach offline characters. Before, you got "That player is not online". Now the message is kept and shows as unread at that character's next login.
- A private message to one of your other characters no longer lands in the one you are playing. That character's portrait shows a pink count, and on desktop a note by the chat button says who it was for. Press it to play that character.
- Direct messages live in the chat now: the separate Direct Message window is gone. Your conversations sit in the chat's left rail with the channel tabs, and you can start a new one from there by typing a friend's or any player's name.
- Chat layout: the settings and pop-out buttons sit at the top right, and the message box uses the full width. The chat settings have two new switches: show others' activity, and include Trade chat in All. The Small/Medium/Large chat size button is gone. On desktop the chat now has one height, and you can pop it out into its own window and drag that to any size. The chat peek at the top of the screen now shows only while the chat is hidden.
- Send item: tap a face in chat to send that player an item by mail.
📊 Character & Gear
- Set bonuses are bigger (buff, purple sets). A set's percent used to count only the stat lines of your eight combat slots, without socket stones. Now it's a percent of Base + Gear, which also counts stars, socket stones, costume and aircraft. No set bonus gets smaller.
- Combat Stats: the Character window switches between Attributes and Combat Stats. Combat Stats shows Base, Bonus and Total for every stat, and its tooltip names where each bonus comes from.
- Attributes now read Base, Gear, Other and Total. Other is sets, a possessing pet, belief and the Skyward Sanctum. Base + Gear is the number your set bonus percent is taken from.
- Gear tooltips show green up and red down arrows against what you are wearing.
- Putting on an aircraft takes off at once if you can fly there, with no need to press Fly as well.
🐾 Pets
- Drag a pet from the Pet Pen onto a taken Pet Slot place to swap them. The pet that was there goes back to the pen. If the pen is full, you're told so and nothing moves.
- A pet with 0 intimacy goes back to Rest. Such a pet already sat out every fight, but it stayed in its slot looking deployed, and that was confusing. Now it goes to Rest and tells you why. Feed it, then deploy it again. Nothing about the pet is lost.
- Your own pets' names in the world show when you hover over them (or tap them on a phone), so they don't crowd the screen.
🖥️ Interface
- New Settings window: six pages on a side rail, sliders next to their number, new Interface and Effects sections, and control keys grouped by what they do.
- Four hotbar styles: the round brass button between EXP and ENR shows your hotbar style as a picture, and pressing it switches to the next one (also in Settings > General > Hotbar style). Every style works on desktop and on phones, and your pick is kept on that device.
- Simple hides the hotbar for a clean screen. The number keys still work.
- Classic is the full bar: all 12 slots plus the pet strip. It stays the default on desktop.
- Invoker (new) gives every other character of yours in the party its own strip. A strip shows that character's whole hotbar page by page (the old fight strips only showed the first 5 slots), flips to its Attack pet with a tap on its face, and has its own auto switch and a target button to pick who that character hits next. Settings lets you choose how many slots a page shows. On phones the strips appear in fights.
- Dial is the round corner dial, now on desktop too. On phones it is the default, and if you already played with the dial on your phone, it stays that way.
- Energy bar (ENR) fills one mark per Gold Nugget, and its card says how many Gold Nuggets today still pays.
- Party colours now show on the portrait rings of your party members.
- On mobile, at most 12 names in the world show at once, so a crowded town doesn't bury the screen in labels.
- The quest tracker always shows a next step: the nearest quest giver, a map with quests to take, or where monsters of your level are.
- Clearer confirms: every confirm now reads Cancel plus the action. Confirms are gone for things you can undo or that cost little: Gold spends under 50,000, locking items, withdrawing a market offer, changing your gacha pity prize, and starting or stopping Hunt Mode. New confirms were added for every Lumi gacha pull, mail carrying 50,000+ Gold, and every dismantle. Throwing items away still asks first, but you can tick "Don't ask again for 10 minutes" to skip the question for a while. Precious items always ask.
- Windows say less and show more: long explanations sit behind the ?, and empty windows show the one thing to do next.
- Complete Now: Select all: the Quest Log's Complete Now list (Tamer Ticket) has a "Select all" box at the top that ticks every quest you can finish in one press, instead of ticking them one by one. It shows when two or more quests can be finished. Each quest still uses one of that character's completions for today.
- Phones and tablets: a tap on a skill shows what it does (passives and pet skills too), tall skill cards scroll, windows fit landscape phones better with bigger buttons, and Warehouse + Backpack open side by side.
- A tidier phone HUD: the character switcher, settings, chat and aircraft buttons sit together around the minimap at one size. The chat button stays lit while the chat is open, and pressing it closes the chat. The chat's channel and conversation list is one column with names, and the chat window is wider to fit it.
- The joystick sits further in from the corner, and the very bottom-left corner ignores touches, so a thumb resting there no longer moves your character by accident.
- Tall skill and talent cards on desktop fit a short window and scroll with the mouse wheel.
- The black outline around characters, pets, monsters and NPCs is gone, and so is its Graphics switch, so the art shows as it was drawn.
- Round shadows under your character and NPCs.
- The Tamer Pass shows hours left on its last day.
🔧 Small Fixes
- Using a trap from the bag in a fight said there was nothing to catch. It now throws at the monster you picked, like the hotbar does.
- Ranking up a skill during a fight could turn its button into a plain attack for the rest of that fight. Now the fight keeps the rank you started it with, and the new rank is used from your next fight.
- Manual fights could look stuck when your default skill targets yourself: the fight waited for you to pick a target without asking. It now always shows the target prompt when it's your pick.
- No one left behind on coach rides: a party member could be stranded, invisible, on the old map or at a dungeon's entrance after a ride. They now come along.
- Switching character keeps your chat tab: Party and Guild no longer fall back to City.
- A trade request between two of your own characters never reached the one being asked. It now asks with Accept and Decline.
- The party list showed the wrong HP for a member with a Defence pet out. It now counts the pet's HP, the same number that member's own bar shows.
- Pet Energy refilled after a fight now shows on the pet bar at once.
- Wide pets no longer overlap their owner, and a following pet no longer stutters on a straight walk.
- Characters walked under the wooden pier and the rope bridge. They now walk on top.
- Putting a ranked-up skill on the hotbar no longer leaves its old rank behind in another slot.
- Repair All no longer offers to "repair 0 pieces for 0 Gold" and now says nothing needs repair. The blacksmith's Repair row now opens the repair page, not the upgrade page.
- Party menus close when the party's leader or members change, so you can't press an outdated option.
- Weakness and Chaos descriptions said they reduce damage taken. They reduce the damage the target deals, as they always have. Only the text changed.
- Nine NPCs in Kharugna promised services that don't exist yet: Judge Kharugna, Marshal's Steward Fodorich, the Prestige Veteran, the Stats Exchange NPC, the two Baccarat NPCs, and the Arena Battle, Team Clash and XP Battle Envoys. Players walked to them and found nothing to press. They are hidden until those services are built. None of them gave or took quests, so no quest is affected.
- The EXP Distributor's name is now spelt Galedora.
